TFNBs update time!

So our Sunday service was peaceful and even joyous with the addition of iced tea and freezies for those community members waiting in line. Thank you Tyler and Erik for arranging. Our line continues to be extremely long and yet we manage every week thanks to our brilliantly kind volunteers. Jen, for example, needed to fill in for queen bee Carly this week and was simply heroic. Stalwart Steph and versatile Daniella also carried the show for us as well.

We had put out the call for cans and assorted dry goods and people have responded very well, so thank you to everyone who has helped out. Our operation is a continuous process, however, and constantly needs hundreds upon hundreds of canned goods and dry side dishes every week, so if you were thinking of helping out, feel free to talk to people in your building or on your block about getting some goods together for a pick up. We would be happy to swing by. Reach out or send etransfers to Team@torontofoodnotbombs.ca

We would also like to thank Eve and Kerly who are collectively known as Vegan Very Much for their massive contribution of weekly sandwiches every Sunday since September. Their vegan sandwiches were incredibly tasty and packed with nutrition. We estimate that they made over 4500 sammies. Jaw dropping. They will be stepping back with our new team of 7 sandwich makers eager to step in. Eve and Kerly will of course stay in a leadership role providing recipes and advice. We love you two!

We would also like to thank Friends of Allan Gardens for providing some wonderful ready to go vegetable plants. We gave out lots of them to community members and other groups looking to get their gardens going.

As is tradition, here are some shots from Sunday’s distribution and our friends Eve and Kerly

Love and Solidarity.
